Hemel Rotary Santa Sleigh

Routes re-scheduled due to adverse weather

Regrettably the decision was made to cancel the static in Apsley Marina and the Santa Sleigh route in Belswain/Nash Mills on the 23rd November and the Adeyfield North route on the 24th November due to Storm Bert. These routes have been re-scheduled as follows:

Belswains/Nash Mills route has taken place on Thursday 28th November

Adeyfield North route will now take place on Friday 20th December.

Route Cancellations

Regrettably the decision was made to cancel the static in Apsley Marina and the Santa Sleigh route in Belswain/Nash Mills tonight. A decision was made to cancel the Santa Sleigh route in Adeyfield yesterday for the same reason.

Sadly Storm Bert has put paid to our first 2 outings with the wind and rain making it much too cold and wet for Santa and the volunteers.

Apologies to all the children.

GOOD NEWS – Belswains/Nash Mills route will now take place on Thursday 28th November when better weather is forecast.

Santa is on his way!

The Hemel Rotary Santa Sleigh starts on Saturday 23rd November.

Use the Town maps to see all the routes that he will take with links to the calendar showing when.

Use the Streefinder to find out if he will be coming down your street and when.

Use the Calendar to find all the routes and static events where you can see and meet Santa.

2024 is the 9th year of our Hemel Rotary Santa Sleigh.  Bringing joy to the children (and adults) of Hemel Hempstead, Kings Langley and Abbots Langley.

25 street by street routes are undertaken between 23rd November and 23rd December as well as a number of static collections giving children the opportunity to have their photograph taken with Santa or indeed Mrs Claus.

Once again, we are extremely grateful to our collector organisations who help each street by street routes and our Friends of Rotary who assist with the Static collections.

Last year our Santa Sleigh activity raised £17,500 to donate back to the local community.

Donations of £350 were made to each of our collector organisations followed by further donations to 25 other local groups and organisations in April (see Beneficiaries).

We are always looking for helpers during our very active Christmas season.  Especially with our static collections.

So if you feel you could assist by doing a shift at a static collection, being a Santa or Mrs Claus or if you have a tow bar on your car and fancy towing the sleigh. Please contact us.
