Hemel Rotary Santa Sleigh

Hemel Rotary Santa Sleigh returns this Christmas for its eleventh consecutive year, bringing festive cheer to Hemel Hempstead, Abbots Langley and Kings Langley while raising funds for local charities and community organisations.

The 2026 programme begins on Saturday 21 November, when Santa will arrive aboard the Sleigh to switch on the Nash Mills Christmas Lights. From then until Wednesday 23 December, the Sleigh will be out almost every day for street collections and static events across the area.

This year’s street routes cover more than 110 kilometres and almost 400 roads. Visit our Streetfinder to check whether your road is included, browse the calendar for dates and approximate times, and follow the Sleigh live on collection days through the Santa Tracker.

Each route is supported by volunteers from a local charity or community organisation. Participating groups receive an equal share of the donations raised, even when bad weather affects an individual collection.

Static events across the area

Santa will also make appearances at Marlowes, Sainsbury’s stores in Apsley Mill and Woodhall Farm, Tesco Extra in Jarman Park and Cineworld Jarman Park. Please check the calendar for the full programme and the latest event details.

Supporting local causes

Since the Sleigh first took to the streets in 2016, it has raised more than £170,000. The appeal now helps over 50 local charities and community organisations each year, supporting vulnerable residents, youth groups, community initiatives and charitable projects across Dacorum.
